「SHEER HEART ATTACK」

Fall 2018

A Raspberry Pi-based autonomous robot that detects and avoids obstacles using ultrasonic sensors, and uses IR sensors to track down the opponent's robot and goal. It has no weaknesses!

"Paperjam" (Sumo Robot)

Spring 2018

A robot created for a sumobot competition, designed to push opponents out of the ring while avoiding the edge of the ring itself. Its name comes from its black coloration and boxy appearance, which resembles a printer.

Digital Logic Whac-a-Mole

Spring 2016

A variant of the game Whac-a-Mole created entirely using digital logic circuits. The game includes 'timed' and 'endless' game modes, and increases the difficulty as the player's score goes up. Special care was put into making the game as user-friendly and foolproof as possible.

Mechanical Hat & Co.

Spring 2015

Various costumes and props - most featuring some technical functionality - designed for an Odyssey of the Mind skit. Each of these props was designed to meet the functional requirements without compromising their aesthetic value.

An arduino-based robot that can trace the outline of a shape. Whereas most 2D plotters use a mechanism that moves the pen along the XY-axis, this machine plots in polar coordinates (magnitude and angle), giving it its name.

"PolarBear" (Drawbot)

Spring 2017

An experimental test stand designed to measure the thrust of a bottle rocket using a load cell, and plot the thrust against the temperature and pressure inside the bottle.

Air Rocket Test Stand

Spring 2018
